This was a long weekend. And not in the best way, either.

The baby is working on molars, I think. He has a mouthful of drool, soaking wet shirts, a red cheek, and a runny mess in his diaper. Around 6 this morning he woke up screaming bloody murder, and after some soothing, I got him back to sleep until ... well ... still asleep now (almost three hours later!).

HDH (hotdrhusband) has been on call at the hospital for 17 days straight. One partner is serving overseas, the other taking a pre-planned family vacation. The call hasn't been too bad, but the last few nights have been horrendous. Both trauma calls which are really interesting, to say the least. The kid last night died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

I didn't really get a chance to nap this weekend and catch up on sleep, nor did HDH. I leave on Thursday for a wedding in Grand Rapids, MI (bridesmiad and singing, this go round), and my biggest hassle is figuring out how to pack the dress and not get it too wrinkly.

The one piece of happiness I really do have this week is looking forward to NO PAINTING in the house. She's officially done until the fall, so I'll be showering in peace (see below).
