Prayers
Our (almost) one-year-old niece ingested last night (on accident, of course) some oil from a glass candle holder. When she swallowed it, she choked and she then threw up. I thought this would be a good thing, but apparently, not so much - as she aspirated it and it gave her little baby lungs a good coating.

After two different hospitals and some ambulance rides, they got her stablized and put on a ventilator. Apparently, her oxygen intake should be at 21 (room air) and it was at 40 (so she had 'modest' support, as HDH stated).

They felt that she had made some progress today and truly feel she'll be fine, but needs about five days or so to really get this junk back out.

All of this happened in SECONDS. My sister-in-law went around the corner to use the bathroom and the baby toddled out, into the living room, found a glass holder they had forgotten they'd even had.

God knows that only a few of you read this. But, it's IMPORTANT to tell your friends and family that you need to get on YOUR hands and knees, crawl around as if you are the kid, and look for anything that might be of interest (ie: BAD) for them.

Conversely, accidents happen and it's important to make sure you recognize this, too.

So, prayers for Baby J, folks.
